I really wanted lady banks but the huge snow storm Texas had has made it difficult to find many plants. These were available and I needed for a trellis. They are very small so let’s see how long it will take to see something pretty happening.————————————–So glad we had them available for you, they are pretty fast growers, shouldn’t take too long. Ordered 2 Red Cascade Rose. Arrived well packaged and in excellent shape. One of the plants will bloom at the end of this week. A gentleman from Wilson Bros. called before the order shipped to tell me that their current stock wasn’t in great shape, and he offered me the choice of getting a Red Cascade from the current stock at a discount or waiting for the next crop. I ordered from the current crop. Honestly, I was a bit concerned when the rose, which was more straggly than I had anticipated, arrived. I planted it anyhow. Well, almost two months later, the rose is thriving! It’s growing, it’s blooming, and I am one happy camper. We like to make sure our customers know what to expect and will often offer discounts when a plant isn’t looking up to our high standards. The Red Cascade rose grows quite fast so by summer our spring crop is usually a bit overgrown in their containers and about half the leaves fall off when the summer heat arrives. But, as you found out, when planted in the cooler ground where their roots can spread they quickly put out lots of new foliage and blooms! Wilson’s called prior to shipment to tell me the plants were not in the best shape and discounted them . They arrived with no issue and are doing very well . We are VERY picky about quality and will often discount plants if they aren’t fully up to our standards in appearance. Sometimes roses in pots will shed some leaves during summer and that’s what often happens with our crop of Red Cascade and many other roses. Doesn’t mean they’re not healthy though…the roots being exposed to the hotter air temperatures just causes some shedding. Once planted in the ground the plants should flush out new roots and put on lots of new growth. Let us know if there’s ever anything else we can do for you.
